I'm driving tonight and out of the corner of my eye I see the CHECK GUAGES light flicker on. This wasn't the first time. It had flickered before, but only for half a second, literally. Should I be concerned??

Is your truck an '03? If so, there was a problem with intermittent check gauges lights that was fixed with this TSB.

Hopefully by now the, ummm, DEALERS, know how and what to disable when they do this TSB. Mine was done incorrectly and the idiots zapped my entire instrument cluster!! Was stuck in a 1/2 ton Chevy gasser for damn near 2 weeks while they waited for parts. :( It does blink occassionally at me lately, but I 've learned to just disregard it.

yea, amen to that. I work at a Subaru dealership and the best tech's out there are the guys that opened up their own place. I think I will just live with it... I doubt it will do any harm.

I don't think its harmful at all... just a "nuisance" TSB. Don't blame you at all for doing nothing about it.

Maybe call around to a couple of dealers and ask if they have heard of the TSB or have performed it on some trucks. I would rather go to the ones that have done it before instead of me informing them that there is a TSB for the problem.

mine's done it a few times, but it doesn't bother me at all...

my instrument cluster also a few times has self resetted on it's own when running [goes dead, then comes back to life] it only seems to do that when cold. one real cold morning, just at startup, it did it like 6 times within 30min, each time after closing the door - something must have a bad contact in the dash [i was helping people start their cars up at work when it was like -26°c/-15°f]
