Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Check your block heater!

I have been having a problem with my plug for the block heater. The plug gets HOT!!!



I picked up a new plug from Fleet Pride. Went under the hood to disconnect the wire from the block, and the cable fell off in my hand, was held on by 1 thread if that.



Tightened it back up (with pliers) and we'll see what happens tonight!

I've come across a bunch that were loose like that, been putting locktite on the threads ever since.

Well, that did the trick! Went out this morning and the plug was COLD!!!

Yes, up here in "cold country" we do. I like to plug mine in and leave the defrost on so I dont have to scrape the windshield. Had the truck for 3 winters and have NEVER scraped. Much better than that old Z71!!!

Up here in the IceBox of the nation... my beast won't start without it. -10 or so is the cutoff where it may or may not start..... even with Mobil One 0w40 Full synthetic!
