Question for "for hire" people on vehicle lettering

Laptop logbook ?

Hi All,

My '96 came with the factory tow package. A while back my trailer brakes didn't work so I started checking and found the wire at the plug where the the 7 pin harness plugs into was falling apart. The wire was completely corroded through. I yanked the wire out and hard wired it to the connector to get me through. Yesterday I pulled all of the wiring apart to rewire a new plug and found all of the wires at the connector were corroded to the point where they could have broken connection any day. I'm soldering and heat shrinking new connections, installing a new plug at the bumper and one in the box for the fiver.

I'd suggest checking your factory tow package wiring on your older Dodge. You could be a day away from losing your trailer brakes while in tow.

Taker easy,

Mike

It only took a few months...

Mine corroded in just a few months on my 2002. I just bought me a good Polok connector, cut off the factory connector, placed dielectric grease on the screw connectors and sealed wiring into plug w/ RTV. It's tighter than a frogs *** and no more problems.
