2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Check your spare tire.

Was cleaning the truck today when I noticed the spare tire had somehow loosened in the hoist and was just dangling about. Everything close by had rub marks and the exhaust hanger had worn a groove in the tire tread. Has this happened to you? How often should we check? Ponz

Well, I notice after a number of years that the lock would no longer open with a key and had to cut it off. Would have been a mess on the side of the road somewhere. SNOKING

There have been many threads in the past about losing the spare (myself included). My solution has been to chain lock it in the bed.

Did see the results of a spare from under a cheby land in front of a Merecedes in NH once - no one seriously hurt but not a pretty sight!!
