So it's been a about a year or so with the EZ in place. So I decided to do a little check.

The last time i did this, the return line dumped fuel all over the place, so I rigged up my long oil funnel and a 1 quart oil bottle to catch all the fuel.

Cleaned up the hole in the top of the valve. A little compress air gets the last few drops out.

Fired up the truck cold as some old Rail valve posts suggested and my results were interesting. Not a drop of fuel emitting from the valve (at idle), however, unlike last time nothing coming out of the return tube?!?!?! The only thing different here is the lift pump is no longer on the fuel canister and I have and air dog in place, with more idle fuel pressure? This is rather odd. A few drops did come out in the end tho, enough to fill a corner of the 1 quart bottle up. Heck, you could cap off the return line with some chewed bubble gum! :-laf :-laf

So I after a minute of idling I idled up the truck to about 18,000 PSI for a few moments watching to see if the valve was blasting fuel all over the place. This was a big happy negative. . Not a drop emitted from the valve.

Next I idled the truck up to 3000rpm with the EZ on 3 and the rail gauge showed 26,000-ish. . same few moments of time and checked the , just a little bit of fuel passed by the valve, enough to fill the bolt hole.

conclusions.

Rail relief valve is still good after a year+ with the EZ in place. I routinely see 26,000PSI on the gauge and try to quickly get the pressure down as soon as possible. . WOT runs with the hot juice on 5 and ez on 3 hold the rail at about 22,000-ish, but it does spike up when I let out suddenly.

On the highway I can't run the ez on 3 or it would be at 26,000 the majority of the time once above 70mph.

I don't think I need to cap the valve as it's just a slight trickle, nothing massive.
