Hey guys- looking to check my timing I set back in August. Supposed to be at 17. 5*. I've got a wire indicator fastened to the underside of the engine, pointing to the harmonic balancer. On the balancer, I have a strip of white tape w/ a mark for TDC, and one for 17. 5*. My question is, the advanced mark should be CLOCKWISE AHEAD of the TDC mark, correct?

Unless you are checking with the pulse adapter and timing light, the marks are only good to use with the Dial indicator/plunger lift method.

Clockwise is correct.

If the marks are like you say, bar the engine over pin the pump and see if the pointer lines up on the 17. 5 mark.

And your right it should be Clockwise
