Thought I would say hi, since I really haven't been active on the 3rd gen boards. I replaced my '96 3500 with a very nice '03 3500 QC DRW with 23k miles. I can't believe the refinement of these newer trucks. Light years of difference, though I do miss the rattle a bit already.

I have no intentions to mod, other than gauges. Is this a risky idea, since D/C may get the idea I have had some other modification, when/if something goes wrong? I really like to know what my EGT's are doing while towing.

Welcome to the third gen!

While gauges might make the dealer techs take a careful look, if there's no evidence of power mods, then there just isn't. Gauges are pretty common, and I've never personally heard of anyone having a warranty hassle just over a gauge.

Just an observation from my perspective- if I was looking at buying a used truck, gauges would cause me to look it over VERY carefully. Since we all know gauges and bombs travel together frequently. I would feel more at ease buying a bone stock truck.

You'll be baccckkk... ... . Wahahaha

Just kidding. Liked my 04 but couldn't see the point of making payments when a paid off truck would suffice just fine. Good luck and enjoy. :)

Well the good news is this one is paid off. Oo. Oo. Oo. Between the amount I sold my '96 for, and the cash I have been saving for a new truck, I am in the free and clear. :D

I would check to make sure your radiator is not being rubbed where the fan shroud has the wires go up through it. Mine just started leaking yesterday with just over 70000 and it is obvious that it was due to a design flaw. :{ It was changed in late 03 so you may not have a problem.

I'm glad they were replaced in mine before I bought it. :D But I also wish I had known about the fan shroud rubbing the radiator. Oh well Alumaseal has it stopped for the moment.

Smart man! Clarke Howard would be proud of you. ;) Sigh... . if only I was so fiscally perspicacious. Too many toys, not enough time. :-laf
