This truck is a friend of mines and it has 135,000 on it. he had an oil sample done, and it came back not as far off normal as I would expect. The truck smokes very bad, white smoke. Runs ok, but overheats occasionally but quickly. It also loses antifreeze by the gallon. Only other thing i know is I opened the airbox and smelled antifreeze. Thanks in advance for an opinion.

Most likely a blown head gasket... Could be a cracked block, but I doubt it. The 6. 5 has a pretty stout block.



I had a '96 in the shop with a blown head gasket... It was so bad, that when I took the glow plugs out to do a compression test, coolant came puring out. :eek:
