Chevy gasser speed limiter...

Howdy Fellers -



My Paw has a 4. 8L Chevy gasser. Who here would know how to defeat the top speed limiter? I think he said it limits his speed to between 95 & 100 mph. Otherwise, how could he or I find this info? He looked at 'chips' that would defeat this feature, but we all know these 'chips' for gassers don't provide results like they do for detuned ISB's. Plus, he didn't want to spend $400+ just to defeat that 1 feature. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Most of the later model Chevy's shut off at 98 mph. I don't know of any way to get around that except for a chip.



The Superchips tuner I put on my bosses '02 Duramax has an option for raising the speed limiter.

Try this,it works on the trucks that are several years old. To fool the computer and stop the cutout (and this works for canceling the daytime running lights also) all you have to do is click the emergency brake 1 click. That's it. It fools the computer into thinking the brake is on and the truck is not moving. It works,I've done it on several different rigs.
