HI, I have been visiting this forum for a while, but this is my first post. Im from Chile and my english is not as good as I wanted to be, but I'll try to do my best.

I used to have a 2005 Cummins 2500, I have it with a Daystar coil spacers, BFG 37x12. 5R17 and H2 Wheels, The trucks was doing great but a friend of mine fall in love with the truck and I decided to sell it to him.

#ad

This was my previous Ram.

Now I have just buy a new 2006 white 2500 Ram, and I want to do the things a little bit better, Know is complete stock but Im planning on doing a few upgrades.

What I was thinking of doing was to use a KORE leveling kit, some 38x15. 50 and 10" wheels, I know that they will not fit, but:

-If I buy the Kore Chase Series Control Arms, will the front axle move a little bit forward? If the answer is yes maybe I will have to trim more on the front than on the back of the front fender.

-¿Will the rear fender's clear some 38 tires with no lift?

-Can I upgrade to a better Kore lift kit later on?

In general, what do you think about this, or should I stick with 37" tires?

Thanks in advance for your time.

First, welcome to the TDR. We're glad to have you join us.

Second, your English is far superior to my Spanish - and I daresay the Spanish of 95% of the TDR members.

Third, I can't help with your 3rd generation truck questions, but there are plenty of folks here who can. Just a suggestion - you might get a better response in the Off Roading forum located toward the bottom of the main forum page.

Again, welcome aboard. :)

That's a nice looking truck. Where in Chile are you located?? I am hoping to visit Chile in the next 12-24 months.

You won't to disappionted with a KORE suspension. It is just amazing how good this stuff works. Get the Chase if you can. Not much more than the Recon. The Chase control arms are stock length. The Race arms are adjustable. Unless you drive really hard, I won't think you'd need to upgrade the stock arms. You might have trouble with fitting 38s. 35s or 37 should do OK. Others with more experience with bigger tires can chime in with suggestions.

If you get the leveling kit, you can up grade later without a problem.

i had to go with loger control arms and a six inch lift, with 10'' wide wheels i am pretty sure i could get the 37-13. 50-17 tyo mts to rub the inside feder on a good flex, kind of like running over a car to the roof... . i did that and busted a front axle, the axle broke because i was dragging the foot brake to keep both front tires spinning, if you dont want it to rub, i would stay with 37-12. 5 bfg mts, i couldnt get a set of ats to last me very long and i have had the best luck with 37 inch bfg mts, the toyos wear faster with my driving habits than the bfgs did, hope this helps

Welcome. Heck, your English is far superior to my ENGLISH!! :-laf

And wayyyy better than my Spanish - four years of Spanish, and I still ain't fluent!

Hey thanks for the quick replys and for your warm welcome!!!

-So the KORE control arms are not longer that original ones, just stronger and coolest  ?

-Maybe im not searching well but I havent been able to get the KORE suspension system prices, could someone help me with this one?

What do you think are the nicest 17x10 8bolts wheel's? I have been looking over the internet for around U$200-U$250 but I dont seem to like any of the wheels.

Thanks, Giovanni!

:-laf "Hay GB" I checked out the web site you sent and I did'nt understand one word anyway I heard that ford has diesels in their little trucks down there such as the medium size or smaller. If so could you send me a web site or info on the truck I'm looking for a diesel engine and computer and harness for my 1968 ford bronco. I also heard that KORE is devloping a 4 inch lift kit and it may be available soon give them a call the number is on their web site http://koreperformance.com or get hold of DRC at http://desertracingconcepts.net/specials.htm and if you ever want to come up to the LA area you can stay at my place. My E-Mail is -- email address removed --and check out my rig's gallery. :D

With a leveling kit and 10" wide wheels (which will most likely have less offset and stick out even more) you will only be able to clear a 33" tire.

The key to running 35's and 37's (with some rubbing) on a leveling kit lift, is the stock rims, or a rim that has the same offset to keep the tire tucked in the wheel well.

When you use a wheel that sticks out more you are putting the edge of the tire out side the body line where it has a chance to hit the lower rear edge of the front fender. When you turn to the left the tire gets closer to the fender and when the suspension compresses you will get contact. When the tire is tucked it has already cleared the fender when it is turned, which leaves it more room to move back before any contact.

Width of the tire plays a role also, as you have to worry about it contacting stuff on the inside edge if the wheel is not properly spaced from the mounting surface.

You might be able to get away with a 37x12. 50 on a 10" wide wheel depending on offset if you use a set of fenders from DRC.

Hi Guys,

Giovanni,

I have the pricing for your shipping now. You can call me in the A. M. for me to explain.

As for the 10 inch wheel. That is a common mistake people have been making and are calling for help. Even with DRC Fiberglass, you will rub on the trailing side of the front fender and a 37 inch tire. The key is the backspace on the wheel. 6. 25 is stock. It is the best for running a 35 inch tire. With a 37 inch tire the stock wheel will work too, it will need control arms, adjusted out a bit, and the relief cut for the huge rubber. Another option is to use a wheel with a 5 inch backspace, DRC glass and clear 37 inch Toyo MT's, no problem. That is the formula that has been working for me. I just installed a set of BFG Krawler KA 37/12. 5/17 on stock wheels. No rub on the KORE Control Arms(Hybrid) or on the fender with a stock backspaced wheel. We also have the 6 inch back Centerline Forged Wheel. It is perfect for a 35 and there is no rubbing anywhere. That is the most common setup the we sell. Chase, 35's and MT's..... Amazing on road and the same off road.

Hope this helps clear it up a bit.

Enjoy.

Hi bellyscraper I have just checked your gallery, and you have a very nice Ram and TJ !!

Responding to your question, yes we do have diesels in almost every medium size truck's brand's, nissan, toyota, ford, chevrolet, mitsubishi, but not dodge.

The Ford Ranger here in Chile comes with an optionall diesel engine, that is a 2,8L TDI POWERSTROKE TGV, 135hp @ 3800, 276poundfoot @ 1600 torque. My mother has a friend that has one, he only talk good things about that truck. Let me know if you have further question's about this topic.

In the family we have a few diesel cars, my father has a new 2006 grand cherokee diesel CRD (with a nice V6 Mercedes engine), I also have a Nissan d22 (over there in the US you know them has "frontier") that is a rock! and I have a Rubicon that i'm planing of changing it for the new Wrangler diesel that it is suposed to arrive on december to Chile, I dont know if it is true or not, but Im ansious about that Jeep. ¡¡¡diesel's rulez!!!

For the record, this is my Nissan Diesel 3. 0 TD.

It would be great that KORE release a 4" suspension system, it would be oriented more to the showtruck market or it would have the same good performance than the previous system?

Thank's for everything!!!! I also have a house in Los Angeles... but in Los Angeles Chile ;) (yes its true, here in Chile we have a city named Los Angeles too) , If you or any one in the board is planning to come to Chile and like to wheel (I asume that you like to Wheel for your TJ ;) )or whatever, give me a call for sure, probably you dont know but we have a very friendly and beautiful country. We used to wheel in ATV, here you have a preview  .

This is a shot of a friend's CJ on the same trail, we have rocks here also... Look here.

Hi, The ram I include in the first post I have to trim quite a bit the rear part of the front fenders to fit the 37" tires, I dont care If I have to trim the new one.

I undestand perfectly what are you explaining me about the backspace and the width, but that extacly what I want for my truck, a more wide stance, I have been searching for 17" wheels and what I like best are TrailReady Beadlocks Wide Rings 17x9 and 4. 5" of BS. ¿Does anyone here on the board has a Kore leveling , 37x12. 5 tires and 17x9 with 4. 5BS wheels???

Maybe, but just Maybe in the future I would like to use some DRC fenders, I dont know the price, but the shipping + the price it get out of my budget for sure, I instead use that money in a better Kore suspension system. I will stick with the Bushwacker's pocket style.

How much better are the Walker Evans Wheels or maybe the Robby Gordon BD, than the TrailReady's, any real life experiences with this ones??

;)

I have some 35x12. 5's on 17x9's w/ 4. 5" bs on my jeep. I have been thinking of putting them on my dodge (w/ kore) just to see if I like how they drive on my truck (dodge needs new tires). If I do I'll get a picture, as it may help some.

Hi Greg thank's for Reply, I have receibe your email and probably Im gonna call you on monday-tuesday morning.

I love the wheels on your website but theyre a bit pricey for my wallet, Your a dealer of Centerline Wheels or you just sell those on your website?, i'm asking you this because I kind of like the OFF ROAD SERIES - G-2 and they're cheap also  . What do you think about those ones?

Talking about control arms, could you please teach me on this you have just wrote "With a 37 inch tire the stock wheel will work too, it will need control arms, adjusted out a bit, and the relief cut for the huge rubber. "

I really didnt get it. I know some CTD that are lifted here that have the superlift 6" and some 38x15. 5 tires on 10" wide rims, I really dont like the superlift kit, I prefer to wait and make the money for the KORE, but I dont want to lift my truck with that system.

The Superlift has new a-arms ¿are those a bit longer than the stocks ones? if so , the rubbing problem decrease, or increase at front were is easier to trim. Does the KORE system move the front axle a bit forward?

Sorry for the battery of questions, but I need to clarify myself on some things before I move forward. By the way, congratulations for your truck, your's and the KORE one has been my inspiration since the begining.

Giovanni,

The KORE hybrid control arms are made from billet aluminum. They are adjustable to allow for a number of things. One being a larger tire. Call on Monday or Tuesday, I will be working on a truck for Phil Howell, Editor, Off Road Magazine.
