I did a trans filter and fluid change on the 98' five days ago. After that the trans didnt seen to shift the same. A few times it seemed to pop out of gear. After I had already put the pan back on I noticed that the filter was made in China. It acted strange for two or three days. I finally went and got a Wix trans filter(Made in USA) And the trans runs and shifts like a new one. Completely different characteristics. I am sold once again on Made in USA over cheap Chinese junk. My 2 cents!:)

I always check the box at the AP store. if it says made in china I ask if they have a different line available. Its getting harder and harder to find the quality stuff

I was ck'n new post and i was like "oh no" but see it worked itself out, shewwww!!!!

Thats like me taking back a rear wheel seal i have had since 06' recpt was in my box where i always put them and the new one i got a few days ago, obviously this was for the '00 i no longer have or a 1ton 1st gen as they were to big so i got the right size when taking the hubs up to be turned. Anyways the one i bought several yrs ago "made in usa" one i got a few days ago "made in mexico"

It is getting tougher and tougher to find parts made in USA. If a person had a way of knowing what to buy up stock on before things went offshore they could probably make a pretty good business of selling NOS parts, at least until the offshore stuff gets up to speed.

I know a guy who deals in auto parts and few years ago they snapped up a very popular axles assembly used in front drive cars. It seems American Axle was stopping production, for awhile anyway, and there was no one else making them. They bought the entire inventory and made a killing as they were the only game in town.

I just completed my 6th 47RE fluid, filter, & gasket change. I always use OEM Mopar through Geno's, now at $30. transmission's just cost too much to screw around with, why risk it.
