Hey guys! I have been hearing a distinct "chirping" noise coming from....I don't know where...but here are the facts:
a) only chirps when the truck is in motion (at stops and idle, no sound)
b) as I accelerate, the chirp gets quicker and quicker...as I slow down, so does the chirping
c) when I turn the steering wheel to the left, it stops while the truck is in motion. BUT the chirping sound is still audible when I turn right or go straight ahead....

any help would be appreciated!! Thanks.

I hear a chirp with my ‘18 that I didn’t with my ‘05. I only hear it at low engine loads. I think it’s injection related and the rest of the engine/cab is so quiet I can hear it now.

John:

I read online that it could be the rear differential....I have taken great care of the differentials as I always get the differential oil changed at each regular engine oil change.

Mine certainly doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the rear.

It’s very quiet and there are drives where I don’t even notice it.

Is it chirping when shifting from gear to another? Some RFE68 ‘s will do that clutch overlap I think. There might be an updated shifting flash to help
