My wife is asking what is on my X-mas list for my truck? Since my truck is still bone-stock, there are lots of things I want, but I need to narrow it down a little. I would like the TST PowerMax except there is no way Santa will drop almost a grand on the truck. Here's what I have so far:

  • Kilby Condensor Guard
  • AFE PG7 Air Box and filter
  • AFE Torque Tube
  • Husky Floor Mats
  • Fuzzy Dash Protector
  • Geno's Muffler Eliminator Pipe

What other must-haves should I add to the list for performance, utility, sound, or cosmetics?

Put some gauges on that Christmas list. Specifically, ask Santa for EGT, Fuel pressure, and Boost gauges with all the goodies to go with them.

Seriously, the gauges would be probably the next logical step in your progression. :)

I Agree Gauges should of been my first MOD I still dont have em' yet... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

i'd go with the condensor guard... with my home made guard, i don't have to worry ever about smashing the condensor fins [or rocks hitting it in the below bumper hole] if i didn't feel like making my own, i would have went with the kilby piece

It looks like you'v got a grand or so on your list already.

Gauges would be my first choice too. My truck is still stock, but I would love to get a baseline established before I started to make any engine mods.

Fuzzy dash cover?

Fuzzy Dash Cover= one of those form fitted color matched dash covers from Geno's with the fuzzy inside to protect the dash from sun, scratches, etc. My other truck has its dash all cracked to crap. Not fuzzy as in 2" shag carpet, sorry :)

I was thinking gauges too, but if I am going to save up for the TST PowerMax with the controller/gauges I was thinking it would be kinda silly to drop the cash on some other gauges and a pod and stuff. I guess I could just do the gauges first and then get the TST without the digital gauges.

Oh and just because that stuff is on the list doesn't mean Santa will bring it. I am just trying to hash out what I would like or need and then ask for one or a couple of things. Probably $300 or less total from my wife and assorted relatives. Sorry for the confusion ;)

You might have a look at this before buying that AFE filter kit...

Thanks Ryan. I had not seen that data before. From that it doesn't look like there is an advantage to running anything but the stock setup. All the PG7 data I have seen suggested that it met the stock requirements for filtration while flowing a little more air. I guess I'll just keep running the AC filter.

A set of gauges are looking really good right now. Establishing a baseline sounds very usefull before making any other mods to the truck. Seeing that I still have about 60k miles on the full truck warranty, I don't see myself slapping on the TST, twins, and stacks anytime soon. I am going to be doing some heavy hauling and towing after the first of the year so some EGT, boost, and fuel numbers would be very handy indeed.

Now I just need to decide if the A-pillar, in-dash, or over the mirror pod would be better for my line of sight. I don't want to drill my dash or leave any wiring laying around so I guess the dash mount is out. A-pillar or in-dash would probably be the easiest as far as running the wiring and cables. I'll have to do some searching.

Updated X-mas List:

  • EGT Gauge and Pyro
  • Boost Gauge
  • Fuel Pressure Gauge with isolator
  • Fuel filter housing cover with npt fitting
  • a-pillar, in-console or above mirror 3 gauge pod
  • Husky liners
  • rams head splash guards to keep the salt and cinders off

That should equip the Ram nicely for the new year and max out Santa's budget. That looks to be about $600 worth of stuff if St. Nick got everything from Geno's:eek:. I'm going to have to get every relative I have to get in on this purchase. How's that look fellas? :-laf
