getting in 10 shifts of overtime in the week before/after christmas. .



labour canada only allows my workplace to have a max of 48 working hours [federal company] but at christmas, things get a little more relaxed with that rule. .

now that will make for a good christmas gift eh? [80hrs @ 1. 5 pay + 80hrs @ 1. 0 pay = ]

Labour America= Work all the overtime you want... you really get screwed on taxes. That rule never changes...

if you are smart in the way you put away your money, you get screwed a little less [but yeah, taxes blow, and up here you can't write off a house morgage]



it use to be free for all overtime at my company, until a few complained because they were not getting enough overtime [they only wanted to work dayshift on their rest days] so labour canada cracked down and now we have to go by the book. myself, i'd rather not go to work on my rest day, so i do double shifts when i can [and come christmas, i will do double shifts on my restdays to let others have the time off with family, as i don't care for spending time with mine]
