getting in 10 shifts of overtime in the week before/after christmas. .

labour canada only allows my workplace to have a max of 48 working hours [federal company] but at christmas, things get a little more relaxed with that rule. .

now that will make for a good christmas gift eh? [80hrs @ 1. 5 pay + 80hrs @ 1. 0 pay = :D:D:D]

you really get screwed on taxes. That rule never changes... :D

if you are smart in the way you put away your money, you get screwed a little less [but yeah, taxes blow, and up here you can't write off a house morgage:(]

it use to be free for all overtime at my company, until a few complained because they were not getting enough overtime [they only wanted to work dayshift on their rest days] so labour canada cracked down and now we have to go by the book. myself, i'd rather not go to work on my rest day, so i do double shifts when i can [and come christmas, i will do double shifts on my restdays to let others have the time off with family, as i don't care for spending time with mine]
