Importing a Toyota Hilux diesel?

2006 Ram will have a redesigned front end

i have another CBOD story. i am heading to jackson and to my suprise i see a ford on the side of i-55 unloading cars off of its trailer. so i am thinking to myself i bet myself a good malbro light that the ford with all of the hazrads triangles out behind it has a CBOD on the side... ... needless to say that less than 10 second after passing the broke down ford i was smoking away laughing to myself. I really did feel bad this guy is trying to make a living and now look at him. i wonder if he is starting to doubt all of the furd propaganda example 6L pulling a ship or how about an airplane or maybe it is the 20K chunk of conrete. i dont know what it was but i know this guy will probably be looking at the fabled cummins diesel pretty soon. :)

What some of these guy need to do is to go to the ferd dealer and ask them if they can buy a truck without an engine and trans kinda like a glider kit then they could put a 5. 9 in it. :p

Ford should do that! Kind of like this kitplane I was looking at purchasing. It's a Challenger (no, not the exec. jet) and they offer different engines and the whole thing in stages.

If Ford did the same, offered the Cummins, or the 6. 0, I am guessing 80% of the Ford loyalists would get the Cummins/Ford, and 20% stick to the 6. 0. And then probably 50% of the Dodge guys get the Ford/Cummins :)

My opinion anyway!

I bet your numbers aren't that far off. In fact the Ford site had a poll to that effect and when the numbers started to show that the vast majority of even those guys would rather have the Cummins they shut it down! I would buy a Ford/Cummins, not because I like the Ford truck any better than the Dodge, but because I'd like to have the extra GVWR of an F-450.

Cheers,

Dave

I know I would be going right out and buying a F-550 4x4 with a 5. 9 and a 6 speed the truck is definetly heavy enough for what I want it for and not to mention it's the same size as an F-350.

I think an all aluminum 5. 9 in a 1500 with a 6 speed auto trans would the the killer deal.

4,000rpm redline, 500HP, 900Lb Tq, 180mph top speed, factory twin turbo. Direct competition for an SRT-10.

GB,

that would rock F550 4x4, with 5. 9 cummins, eaton 7 speed with a spilt rear end. of course you might as well buy a used pete :)

What got me saying that was I ran a 95 F-800 with a 5. 9 and a 7 speed spicer the trans had a real close shift gate the F-800 has the same cab as the F-350. Also I can't afford a Pete :{ :-laf
