Chrome

Ok, I did a search on this and didn't find out what I wanted. Is there any place out there that makes either Chrome valve covers for my 02 (one long valve cover) or ones that are painted. I haven't seen these yet, but am looking ... ... ... thanks Don

I don't think there's anyone selling one. You could buy one and have it done or just send yours off if you can be down for 2-3 weeks. I heard a rumor of someone making a polished aluminum one, but I don't remember where I heard it.

I just talked to a guy tonight about chroming my valve cover and air horn. I am going to paint the letters on top either black or red. I think it will look cool.

Cummins sells a Red and Black Valve cover for the 24Vers. . CUMMINS in big letters across the top. . a nice looking cover. .

(Do a search for the correct part numbers. . some application have the filler hole at the back)

The think Steve has polished his. . if I could find a spare I would do mine... Here is a pic of my intake horn I did a few yrs ago. . still look good. . ( except one minor scrape where I dragged the dipstick tube one it once. . )

On the intake horns. . I am trying to purchase some and do an exchange bases... Just need to get some spares...

The Red valve cover has been discontinued by Cummins and is no longer available... ... . Andy

Once the paint is removed, the best polish I have used so far, is White Diamond. Works great. ALOT less work than Blue Magic or some others I've used.



From the size of the bottle, it looks like it won't do far, but I have polished 8 alum. big truck rims (4 badly pitted, not perfect yet, but MUCH better and have a shine on them now), steps, muffler heat shield, tool box, 2-60 gal. fuel tanks and some other stuff. Haven't even used half of it yet.



VERY happy with it.

Lots of sanding and Blue Magic... I have not tried the White Diamond...

Do a search for "Ugly Intake Horn". . or "No More Ugly intake horn" I think I posted what I used. . I just finished a rearend cover. . pic on the Non engine Product forum...



Sorry. . I didn't know they had disconntinued the Cummins valve covers. . I guess I should have got one earlier. . I guess. . I'll have to polish this one...

Here's the best looking Cummins I've ever seen. The member is RADdodge. He's got it figured out. I'd hate to have to do all that polishing though.
