I've considered buying one also, but I'm concerned about Dodge's ability to compete on the market. They really need to trim down their line of cars and focus on quality and innovation.I'm thinking about an extended Chrysler service contract, 7/100, there are several offered on the internet, all claim to be from Chrylser. Has anyone purchased one online, and is there anything to be aware of? thanks
For my particular application a Maxcare policy,$50 deductable,7 year/60,000 is $350 cheaper. $1625 vs $1275 with this site:www.chryslerservicecontracts.comI followed other TDR members advice on this thread--https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/3rd-generation-ram-forum-no-engine-transmission-discussions/169840-7-yr-100-000-chrysler-warranty-who-has-best-deal-wwa.html and talked with Diane here--http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/
She works at a dealership in their warranty office and sells them as low as she can go. I went with a 7year/ 100k bumper to bumper (Maximum Care Plan) and then for $100 more made it so that if I have no claims at the time the warranty expires, Chrysler will refund my money. Pretty good deal, assuming Chrysler is still going to be around?!![]()
Diane was GREAT to work with and it is a genuine Chrysler warranty, as cheap as I found anywhere.
Generally I'd agree, but Bob4x4 got one and he's a tech. Of coarse,I'm sure he got a price he couldn't refuse.I read once that the extended warranty wasn't a good value... Consumer Reports or someplace like that... . I own several trucks... as you can see below... I havn't spent enough money out of warranty to pay for one service contract between the factory warranty and 100K miles... . if you added the cost of repair on all my trucks... .

What about your Fords? :-laf:-laf:-lafI read once that the extended warranty wasn't a good value... Consumer Reports or someplace like that... . I own several trucks... as you can see below... I'm 4wd. Incidentally, the refund option wasn't offered online to me. That might change if I called. I pushed the mileage button : 0-11,000 miles/year which helps too! I supplied equivalent info to both sites. Not only that. but on the Max Care, if you don't use it (make a claim, that is), by the the expiration date, you can get a refund option at the time of purchase for only $100. 00. I did it that way so that I could decide if I wanted to get upgraded parts, or if only something small happened, I could just take care of it myself and later get a refund on the warranty cost. Given what I have read about the likliehood of either unit bearings, ball joints, or injectors going bad on the stock trucks, I figured it would be a safe way to go.
By the way, RegCabGuy, are you 2wd or 4wd?? I think that makes a diff on the warranty cost.
No,but it's considerably higher. I've only got 9800 miles on mine. It's less risk for them, kinda like getting life insurance on a child compared to an old guy like me.Did you happen to quote what a 7 year/100,000 mile plan would be?
