Cummnzpowr Makes it another year...

What I did in Taiwan....

Anyone have information on the Chrysler Pacifica? We are looking for a new vehicle eventually, so I thought I would pick TDR's brain and see if anyone has one or has had personal experience with one? We're mostly interested in the AWD model... Any problems? Fuel Economy? Overall?

Thanks Everyone!

P. S. can we persuade Chrysler to put a Cummins in it????:D

Just bought one !

Wife loves it, for size, stability and all the toys. Can't give you too much "real" info as we've only had it a week and 3 days but the grandaughter loves the DVD so she and "nana" can watch Nemo. I love it too, as then I get to drive... . :)

Keep me informed as to how you like it after time... and I'm most interested in the fuel economy on it... It will be her car and she has a 70 mile commute M-F.

THANKS!

Not to burst anyone's balloon, but....

Overpriced, Overweight and Underpowered. Gas milage isn't going to be great as a result. Really nothing more than a repackaged and admittedly opulent minivan.

Probably a good cruiser in the prairies, though.

Just my opinion.

Can we persuade D-C to put a 4. 7, 45RFE and RWD in it? Oo.

TommyTurbosaurus, do you own one? have you driven in one? how do you base your claims?

Underpowered? I find that hard to believe knowing that the AWD model has a 3. 5L 250hp V-6!?! Most "grocery getters" aren't even 200 hp and they're a slightly larger vehicle...

I mean, I understand that after someone spends $40k on a fully loaded model, they're not likely to talk bad about their purchase, even if it's a mistake. But I'm just trying to get some accurate info from owners of them because they're so new out.

Horsepower Isn't Everything!

I don't own one. In that respect, I'm unbiased. I have had several discussions about the Pacifica with some of the salesmen and mechanics at the local dealership that have driven them, however. One of the TV reviews I watched suggested that the power to weight ratio 'left something to be desired'.

Based on personal experiences, I caution you to carefully evaluate the performance of a relatively small and low-torque engine in a relatively heavy AWD vehicle.

I will leave it at that.

Tom

My 7k lb truck only has 250hp and it scoots along pretty good. Our Durango has 235hp and it flat hauls butt! I think a test drive with a conclusion based on what you feel is good performance is the best way. I think they look pretty good! They don't fair too well in the 5mph pole tests but rated way up there in the 40mph crash safety tests.

can't seem to keep it under 70

the wife's paifica wants to run at 70 everytime I'm behind the wheel and on the freeway. unfortunately the limit is below that. the car/suv or whatever it's classed, runs very well and has enough umph to get on the freeway respectably. and it seems to be as wide as the dodge pu. very stable.
