FL60 + propane boost system?

Doc,

Let's look at a 10 BHP diesel that has a specific fuel consumption of 300 grams per kilowatt-hour (300 g/kw-hr).

1 gram = 0. 002204623 lbs,

so 300 g/kw-hr = 0. 6613868 lbs/kw-hr

1 BHP = 0. 745699 kw,

so 0. 6613868 lbs/kw-hr = 0. 49319548 lbs/BHP-hr

Since this is a 10 BHP engine, it will consume 4. 9319548 lbs of fuel per hour.

Since #2 diesel weighs approximately 7. 462 lbs per gallon, this equates to fuel consumption of 0. 66094 gallons per hour.

when i was in school, we had a single cylinder lister diesel engine there... i think it was pretty cool... you could hand start it real easy with the decompression valve open, and it was a little harder to start with the valve closed. it was pretty quiet idling there, but if you blocked off the intake with your hand, it would bog down quite a bit and if you released your hand just before it stalled out, she made one hell of a clatter when the governor went to full rack to prevent stalling... . neat engine... i think it was rated at 7hp and something like 500 ft/lbs torque

When I was a kid we had a two cylinder Cat diesel running the irrigation pump, thing was huge.

If I remember correctly it was 400 hp and turned 75 rpm.

Some neat old Cummins I found in Indiana when I went to the nationals in 2002
