After Reading The Article On The Ci-4plus Versus Cj-4, I Called Valvoline Oil Company And Asked Why They Are Discontinuing The Ci-4 Plus? He Indicated That Valvoline Was Coming Out With The Ci-4 Plus Under A New Name; "premium Blue Classic. " This Will Be Available At Napa. I Have Not Tried It As Yet But Thought You Might Be Inerested.



According To The San Diego Dealership They Use The Ci-4 Plus On Oil Changes For Years 2006 And Earlier.

I went to my local Napa looking for the premium blue and the guy at the counter showed me a gallon of the Napa Premium blue classic and said it was the same stuff I was looking for. He said Valvoline makes oil for Napa. I didn't believe him so I didn't buy it. I guess I'll have to go back and pick up a case or two.

FWIW, if you look at the back of both Valvoline and Napa lubes they say Ashland oil co. lexington,ky.

I called my napa and gave the part number and said it didn't exist. Can you please post the part #. . so it's called NAPA premium blue classic, not Valvoline PB classic?

Valvoline Part # 591840 for 1 gallon. Valvoline Oil Company 1800-354-9061.

Talk to Oil Company and said the survey they took indicated a need for this type of oil CI-4 plus



Call Napa doesn't have number part on list as yet said to new. .



Also Dodge dealer in San Diego is also carrying CI-4plus went you have oil done by then. The service writer said Dodge will carry in bulb the CI-4 plus due to warranty issue.

Just called Valvoline again. Talk to tech section 1800-354-9061. The number is # 591840 in 1 gallon.



There are making as we talk should on the shelf soon. It is a new product under premium blue classic.



Can also review on web site Valvoline.com. also indicated might not on site as yet. New product line.

Notice 591840 is listed as the 275 gallon container!!!! They don't list a 1-gallon tote.

I'll be curious to see if it has "CI-4+" in big letters and "cj-4" in small print! A lot of oil manufactures have started doing this!!!

According to the website, it's NOT a CJ-4. It has a TBN of 12, which is likely too high to protect against premature emissions failure. CI-4+ is the highest approval for PBC. http://www.valvoline.com/products/PBC.pdf
