For those looking for the 'old' CI-4 oil, I did some research this week & found it available through a local Shell distributor. I don't know what quantities are available, but I made a purchase of a 55 gallon drum of the Rotella CI-4. With any luck it will remain available for years to come.

CI-4oil

Have purchase CI-4 oil 15/40 Napa It is a special order 591889. Have to ask clerk to call special order. Comes in 5 gal bucket.

I purchase it from Bill Henry's Auto Supply Napa Gila Bend Az 1-800-995-9001

If you have problem with locate Napa Dealer call them for more information.

I've been in search of this oil also

I found that Valvoline Premium Blue Classic offers the CI. It only comes in 5 gal/ 50 gal/ or 250 gal.

Finally something to protect the cam and lifters with Zinc and Phosphorus.

You can get the Delo CI-4 from the Chevron distributor around here in 5 and 55 gallon drums.

I however have given up on it just because the 1 gallon containers are so convenient.

I bought up so much CI-4 last year before the CJ came out that I won't need new oil for a long time.

With my luck, by that time all the CI-4 will go away.

While we're on the subject, I bought a small bottle of Briggs & Stratton 30-wt. oil for my lawn mower last week. I noticed on the back it meets the CF-4 specification! I thought that was interesting.

The drum of Rotella T (triple protection Rotella) I bought shows both the CJ-4 and CI-4 on the sticker on the side of the drum. All their advertising states that it's good for the 2007+ as well as pre-2007 engines - also both ULSD and LSD fueled engines.

For whatever it's worth, I paid $525 plus tax for the 55 Gal. drum.
