I recently bought 20 gallons of Valvoline Premium Blue Classic from my Cummins Distributor. Still shows CI4+. Spendy, $360 for the 20 gallons. But I sleep good at night!

Good buy. I talked with Valvoline a few months back and was told they no longer make the Classic. I don't know whether to believe them or not.

I got Rotella.

The part that is really confusing is a lot of the oils including the cummins jug I looked at had the big ci4 mark on it, But then if I read more it states that it is also cj4 compliant. If it is cj4 rated on the jug in my mind it can not be ci4.

This oil thing is very confusing, Jugs marked ci are also on there as cj this is kind of double talk in my mind.

Chevron still making Delo400 CI-4+ in the 5 gallon buckets. I was told for fleet operators and would still be making it for quite some time.

I agree with you. It's not complicated, but frankly there seems to be almost nobody at a parts counter who has any clue.

I bought oil specifically without CJ markings of any kind.

The problem is, we're in a tiny minority of people who actually care. Probably <<1% of the oil-buying public.

I purchased CAT DEO CI4+ (no CJ lettering at all on the jugs) at my local Caterpillar dealer last week at $18/gallon.

Ryan, I would have to look at my receipt but I want to say I ordered and received these 20 gallons sometime in January or February of this year. I have to order it from a Cummins Didstributor located 90 miles away from me. They order it from the Twin Cities. Then I have to pay the freight fees to my door. All said and done I think I shelled out about $420 total. I only put about 8K a year on so I don't know what will happen next time. Maybe I should suck it up and try to order another 20 gallons.

Yep, I buy it for my Kubotas... Kubota 15-40 CI-4 available in quarts, 1-gallon jugs, or larger.

I havent had to change the Bota yet... ... but i've got PLENTY of1 gal and 5 gal. buckets of CI when its ready.

Still not sure how I ever got anything done before the Bota. .

They do not make it. One of my family works for them and they can no longer get it for me. The last I got was from NAPA.
