Cincinnati Meet 'n' Greet

Alright, guys - anybody up for another Cincy-area get-together this spring? Maybe in a month or two? If there's enough interest, we can start firming up a date/location.

Someone mentioned that a previous group had toured the Cummins plant - is there any chance we would be able to do this again for those of us who didn't have a Cummins at that point?

I'd be game for that, I'd love to tour the plant. I know a guy who works down there. If you want to pursue it I could maybe contact him to see what is available as far as tours and the like. Doug

Yeah, that'd be great, Doug. I wasn't a member the last time the plant tour happened, so I'm not sure who even set that one up.

Another option would be to have a track day out at Edgewater. Someone on our last thread had mentioned it, and I think it'd be great if we could enough people together to just rent the track for a whole day. If not, then we could still get a group to go during Test 'n' Tune some night...

The plant tour could be done anytime - the track day would have to wait until whenever they open this year...

Just checked Edgewater's site, and it looks like they're opening this weekend. Probably be better to wait until it's a little warmer. Anybody know if they will rent out the track for a day, and if so, how much $$?

That was me! Unfortunately, I was not able to attend because something came up at work. If I can dig up the phone number for the tour POC at Cummins I'll give it to someone who wants to set up another tour.

I heard at the last Meet 'n' Greet that a lot of people had initially shown interest in touring the Cummins plant back when you guys did it, but only four or five people showed up. If there would be any real interest in touring the plant, we could try it again, though. Anyone who would be interested, chime in on this thread, and if there's enough interest, I'll take the number and try to set up a good date for everyone.

I'm pretty sure jwilliams is right... plant tours are only on weekdays during normal plant hours.

Plant tour

I talked to the brother of an engineer who works at Cummins, and he says they are not building engines at Columbus anymore, that all they do at Columbus is R & D, testing and corporate offices. Can any of you guys confirm this? I considered it a reliable source, but can't say for sure.
