Does anyone know if the electric/heat mirror connector on the 2nd gen ('99) has the pins in it for turn signal/running lights like the 3rd gen trucks do? Obviously the connectors are the same because the 2nd/3rd gen flip up tow mirrors swap has been done between these years.

Cipa tow mirrors are now available through Mopar for the 3rd gen with an added turn signal/running light on the outside, so obviously the mirror connector has the pinouts for these. I am looking at putting these turn signal/running lights on Cipas for my '99, but need to know if the pinouts are there like the 3rd gens, or is the connector just empty in these slots?

Not true. The connectors are different.

One part of the swap involves matching up existing second-generation wiring with the wiring of the third-generation mirror.

There is no turn signal wiring in place in second generation Ram doors.

There is no pins in the plugs on the 3rd gens for the lights either. You have to run wires from each mirror to the power dist. box to connect for the lights. Its not as bad as it sounds, just takes a little time. There is a place in the 3rd gens plugs for the pins to be installed. The pins and wire comes with the mirrors. I replaced my OEM flip up towing mirrors with the Mopar cipas and like them better than the OEM, just don't like the looks of them as well as the OEM's. The mirrors come with good install instructions.
