Anyone using either of these? I'm starting to dislike all the blind spots in my flip-up towing mirrors. Does the BD stabilizer really make a difference?

If the CIPA mirrors you are referring to are those great big suckers that slide out, they were awsome on my '01. When the mirrors arrived, they looked huge but when installed on the truck, they looked like they were factory. I would replace my '05 mirrors if they weren't $400.

I have CIPA mirrors on my truck. I like the visibility that I get and the blind spot mirrors that come with them are great. The blind spot mirrors have a peel and stick on the back so you can place them wherever you want and they will stay on. I have the hand adjustable, not electric, mirrors and about every 3 to 4 trips I make the vibration has caused them to be out of adjustment. I haven't seen any way to tighten them up so they don't move.

I have the 'elephant ears' - they are a GREAT improvment over the stock flip up/outs . .

MUCH better visibility, blind spots gone, mine are 'factory dodge/mopar' the spot mirror is built in, elect controls, heated and lighted with running and turn signals. Mine are tight, no vibrations.

I would DEF get them again, thinking about putting a pair on my other truck too.

I also have the Defiant Steering Box Stabalizer - night and day difference between the stock steering and what the bracing does for the steering - they are all about the same regardless of manufacturer.

Do you have some available pics? I would like to see what they look like mounted up.

I put one of the BD units on about 6 weeks ago, so far no complaints. Steering feels a little tighter overall. Made some difference on the highway but the biggest difference was on secondary roads where you encounter more curves and pavement dips, etc. Seems to hold a line much better through a corner.

I have the CIPA mirrors on my 02. They are power, heated. I had a piece of 5/16 X 1 1/2" aluminum bar stock bent into a "J" shape. The hook goes over the top extension bar on the mirror, a ubolt clamps the bar to the lower extension bar. I then mounted a 5" spot mirror on the aluminum bar. It works much better that those dinky little spot mirrors. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera, or I would post photos.

I installed the Defiant Steering Gearbox Sector Shaft Stabilizer Bar on my '03, 3500 SRW, 4X4. To be honest, I did not notice a dramatic difference. My guess is that the sector shaft and/or gear box were still in good shape. With that in mind, I would buy it again because, I believe is a good preventative maintainance device. No regrets about the purchase, at all!!!!!

My truck has the Mopar RV mirrors & I don't care for them, much. I'm getting older & find that the convex mirror is too small. I have to "concentrate" on the mirror before I can finally focus enough to see anything. While driving, that's not good!!!

On my '91. 5 W-250, I installed aftermarket "truck" convex mirrors. A 7" round on the passenger side & a 5" on the drivers side. The stock mirrors have a 90* round shaft connecting them to the door. I used a telescoping tube connected to the round shaft that placed the passenger side mirror above the stock mirror. On the drivers side, I used a connector to mount the 5" mirror just below the stock mirror. These mirrors work extremely well. Just a glance at them shows you everything that is on the side of the truck. I only wish I could figure a way to install these on the '03.

Dodge decided that it was necessary to build a pretty, plastic-molded, fancy-schmancy mirror system that does not allow you to install additional mirrors. I would much rather have the older style mirrors. At least they were compatible with additional mirror installation. There's too much crap on these new trucks that looks cute but, is not very functional.

I'll have to look into the Cipa mirrors.

If you PM me with youre-mail I can send them to you.

I guess I have to figure out how to downsize them,or put them into thumbnails for posting, eh? Then I have to figure out how to post them . . all these learning curves are killing me.

I had a set of the Cipa tow mirrors on a Suburban. They worked okay but tended to vibrate some and after a while, one of them would gradually extend on its own. I would not recommend them. (just my opinion)

The Cipa mirrors are a big disappointment, about 2 inches or more of the mirror set below the site line on the passenger side. I have to put the seat all the way up and then sit on a pillow to see over the door and get full use of the mirror.
