Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I've pretty well settled on the CIPA mirrors, the only question now is electric or electric/heated. My truck is a 2002 3500 with the big manual towing mirrors. My question for you guys is this:
The wiring harness is in the doors for the stock power mirrors (switch and mirrors). I know I have to buy a switch, knob and nut for the new mirrors, it should plug right in. Here's the hitch - I would like to go with the electric/heated mirrors, but can find nothing in the service manual indicating if this part of the wiring harness is also factory installed if you do not have the stock power/heated mirrors. I would think that DC would only use one harness for this truck, but you can never tell. I know I will also have to go with a different A/C control panel (the one with the mirror switch built in), that is no problem.
I also can find nothing in the service manual concerning a fuse or relay for the heated mirrors - just that it ties into the heating and A/C system. Are fuses or relays necessary?
Any help or insight into this would be greatly appreciated - I don't want to spend the extra money for the heated option if it won't work.
