I was changing the filter in my 99 47re today and I found a circlip in the pan. I could not see any obvious spots that it might have come from. The clip looks like it will fit a shaft of about 5\16" in diameter. I have not had any problems but this concerns me. The truck is still under extended warranty, and I am just looking for any advice on what it might be.

Check the end of the park rod when it goes thru the shifter notched detent. Kind of rooster comb thing that moves when you move the shift handle. Move it to 1 on the shifter so you can see the end of the park rod. It should have an e-clip on it where it sticks down thru the rooster comb. If there is an empty hole then you have to pull the end of the part rod down thru it.
