City-Boy Firewood Question

I'm seeing and hearing about the gooseneck/camper/jeephauler combo more often. It works well and is a relatively cheap way to go to get all your toys and weekend home to the play spot.



You mean the Jeep Safari in Moab? That's a long haul from me. I'd like to head out there sometime though. I'm hoping to make Tellico the big trip for this year.

It's about 1000 miles for me, been doing it since the late 80's.

Great wheeling in that area if you like bumping rocks.

Closer to 1500 miles for me. :{ I do like playing in the rocks. Ours are different than Moab's though. Ours have mud and moss on 'em, with trees in between.

That can make for some excitement for sure, Oklahoma is like that too maybe w/out the moss.

Ob firewood comment: It's been a long time since I've needed it, but when I lived in Park City, a delivered "ton" consisted of a pickup load up to cab height with sideboards.



Jeep Safari: I'll be there, as every year (what's 2,000 miles in a CTD?). I'll be leading the Jimmy Dordaller Memorial Run on Pritchett Canyon Monday, and Gold Bar Rim Thursday; also gunning Cliffhanger Wednesday and Hell's Revenge on Big Saturday. Duh, hi Mike! I didn't realize you weren't still driving a Suburban (and a '97 eh--shows you how much attention I've been paying lately). So what do you have planned for Monday? I'll be getting out there either the Monday or Tuesday prior so I can have plenty of time for pre-runs (gotta practice on Rocker Knocker & Rock Pile).



Last year I had put the stock tires (245s) back on my '98 V-10 in anticipation of selling it, and I got 7 MPG on the trip out & back (Jeep on the flatbed) instead of the 8 with the taller BFG ATs (295R75-16s). That's when I started to think I had (and really would with the HO CTD) plenty of torque and didn't need the 4. 10s



I'm really looking forward to seeing what the new one gets for mileage this year.

OK Mark, pull yourself together now, that Suburban belonged to my friends and that was over ten years ago!! See how time flies when you're having fun. I'll be hanging out at Spanish Tr. RV park with the gang, the Dodge gang, I guess there's probably 10 of em that drive CTD's. I guess I'll see ya at the meeting for sure.
