Would Kerosene hurt the engine?

Not open for further replies.
I did some cogitating on this and have a few theorems to proffer:

1. The reason there use to be less contentiousness was because in the olden days everybody had the same engine. So what were they going to flame about, my red truck is better than your blue truck? In a canny move to balkanize the TDR, DC dreamt up the 2G. Not willing to let a sleeping dog lie, they conjured up the 24v. And finally, not willing to let sleeping dogs lie, the double whammy coup de grace, a 3G WITH the HPCR engine

2. Used to be us po' folk could only rubber neck when a CTD roared by. However as the years passed swftly by, like sand through an hour glass, or something to that affect, the CTD owners got to jonesing for a new model (see #1). This created a whole new clientele who actually could afford a CTD by mortgaging house and home or indenturing loved ones. Unfortunately, this new clientele were mere commoners, dirt chickens, or gentlemen of the baser sort, moi excepted, of course.

3. Just more Biblical prophesy coming to pass. To whit " But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" . If you think I'm wrong, take a gander at some of the "toilet" humor circulating on the "OTHER" category, or better yet don't. Why even I have been carried away by the hypocrisy into the carnal depths of depravity, tsk, tsk.  :D

4. Finally, I shall not be casting any stones because I am indeed guilty of inflamed passions and hurling verbal molotovs at those who would dare suggest dino is not good enough, everyone doesn't have to own a dually, a 1G is better than a 2G is better than a 3G, an auto is as good as a five speed, or, heaven forbid, a five speed is superior to a six speed. :-laf

On Item 2, and to think I mortgaged my children-grandchildren-great-grandchildern to be into a participating clientele of the Cummin diesel engines. I can go along with you on your read, Traildog

Speaking of 'bolt ons', did she get them? Do you have any pictures of the installation?

well if you have any doubts about the quality of people at our site just go over to dieselstop.com for a while and read some of the other posts. I usually buy one or two new trucks a year since I do mobile heavy eq repair and welding and I bought at least one 6. 0 powerstroke last year and one Duramax. I am on all of the other guys sites every night and I never see the quality of people I see here!!!

"Yes Vaughn, I agree. When there is no face, it's easy for things to get out of hand... whether it's a keyboard or a car. Look at all the inconsiderate things happening on the road! Faceless confrontation... . that's what road rage is made of. "

It can be real funny to see the courtesy one individual will eagerly extend to another in opening the door at a store to help a shopper with an armload of purchases - maybe even offer to go the the car with them to offer even more help...

... THEN do their damndest to run over them to beat them getting out of the parking lot once both are in their vehicle... :D :-laf

I still like the bit about not typing anything over the keyboard you would be hesitant to say face to face...

Better than most boards? ABSOLUTELY! But it requires steady monitoring and occasional nudges towards a few (me sometimes!), to keep it on the straight and narrow.

I'll try to do better... :D :D

I respect anothers' passion for their point of view... ... as I would ask that they respect mine.

If you want to drive an automatic transmission in a CTD..... like I did in the first one I owned..... it will have no affect on me. If you drive a manual transmission CTD, like I currently do..... that's cool too.

I will read about your perspective and point of view... ... the pro's and con's of your position, and consider their merit for my own application.

Life is way too short to waste time arguing why an auto is better/worse than a manual..... or arguing for much else for that matter... .....

I won't read or reply to a subject that is argumentative... ... ... no point to it - I could care less if you don't like my 6 speed transmission..... those are your feelings, not mine.

Big Mak

I guess the poster that replyed at the bottom of page one of the "dealer voided my warranty" thread didn't read your request about name callin', etc.

Hopefully the flamers and bashers will let folks give him some ideas on his warranty issue. JIM

I respect everyones opinion that is different than mine. I have noticed that *most* on the 3rd gen board are very cruel to an opposite opinion. It almost seems childish. Glad there is a few that are not like this.

Gee, I sorta thought those with the 2nd gens to be the abrasive ones. . :-laf

Yeah we 3rd genners get a little grumpy at times. It must be all the electronics and hightech stuff effecting our way of thinkin. :-laf

Hint... hint... hint... . hint... . hint... . hint... .

There is 6 of them there... . choose any you like! :-laf

How come, a certain 3G troller's comments seem to be like fart bubbles in the bath tub. Sigh... . perhaps it's just me.

Guess, I'm not likely to be one of the six. :-laf

Opps, I forgot, civility, please

I was suggesting he should "take a hint" (go back to 2nd gen). There's been plenty. .

I've deleted a number of posts in this thread where a case of incivility poured over from another thread into this one. I have edited the other thread as well. Taken from my post in that thread which I had sent to another member previously:

A lesson that I learned early in life is that if someone was bothering me the best thing that I could do was to ignore them and they would go away. If instead I played into it and reacted to them it just gave them more reasons to continue.

My suggestion to you would be to do just that - instead of blasting back with a double barrel shotgun just ignore the few individuals that you seem to be having trouble with. If they do anything that is beyond the guidelines we will step in. If you feel they have and we haven't stepped in let me know and I'll look into it - but understand that I may not agree with you. An option you have that you may or may not be aware of is that you can put anyone on the site on your ignore list (go to Discussion Forums->User control panel and then near the bottom on the left you'll see "Buddy / Ignore Lists") and you won't even see posts by that individual. If you are receiving messages through your PM's or email you can turn those off as well through your user control panel.
