Yesterday morning I was headed out the door when my wife blocked my path to the truck, asking where I was going. I said I was going to the club and shoot some clays’. She just stared at me and then asked why I had never invited her to go along. I’m not one to be at a loss for words but she caught me off guard, so I told her to grab her things and we would go. I never for one moment expected her to want to shoot, but one the locals who is always on site that saw me with wife in tow recommended we go to the practice stations and give her some time on my Citori XT. Thanks pal was all could think. I was wrong…I never stopped to consider that my 120-lb bride of 42 years would be remotely interested. Long story short…she got serious after about 20 loads and finished the day with 71/100. My wife is an excellent tennis player and competes with other teams in the area so I guess she’s got the hand to eye thing down. Looks like that new (that I’ve yet to receive) CZ Upland Sterling I ordered will have a new handler. All in all, I had a great time with my gal.

Anyone else in here include your wives??

I've been shooting with mine for many years. We don't shoot clays, mostly pistol and some rifle. She comes from a military and law enforcement family and we grew up as hunters. So, it was just natural for us to continue the activity once we were married. In fact, she asks to go out much more often than I do. Don't tell her I said it, but she's a much better shot than I am.

Mine really liked to hunt and shoot before the kids came along... . We still shoot the pistols off the porch. She'll go through two mags and she's done... . She's pretty good, though. She really likes to shoot after Halloween and explode the pumpkins!! I built her a . 243 to shoot, and she's pretty protective of it... . I'll try to borrow it from time to time, and she doesn't like it..... :-laf She's got a pretty good setup shooting out the back door. Down here in Denton Co, I carry any dead animals down about 400 yards E of the house to a ditch so the bones are in a specific area, not scattered all over the pastures. The coyotes come in, and she sets up inside the back door on two chairs and shoots out the door!! :D She's figured out the Mil-dots, so the prairie poodles usually don't fair too well!! She won't shoot a deer, but hogs and coyotes are fair game... . She gets mad if I shoot at coyotes off the porch without her. We'll shoot skeet at family outings, but she's there more for the beer than to hit any clays... .

My wife and I have been shooting together since before we were married, 30+ years ago. Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, just about anything . We have shot Clays alot together and she always beats me, but she can see better than me ( or thats what I use for a excuse ) It's alot of fun having you spouse along in every hobbie that WE like.

I was really surprised in how receptive she was as I showed her how to mount the shotgun and she caught on really quick. The Federal loads I was using were 7-1/2 2. 75 dram and the gun weighs about 8-1/2 lbs. so recoil was minimal. All in all, we had a great time and she's looking forward to getting her own shotgun. It also helped (I think) give her some extra courage when she saw there were quite a few women at the club. Today, she asked if I planned on taking her on the waterfowl opener!

When I first met the wife she said something about a T shirt that I had on that had some kind of Gun maker logo on it. She asked if I like to shoot guns WELL HELL YA LITTLE MISSY!!!! IM BILLY BAD A** ON MY DAYS OFF  Some time went by and took her out to dinner and dance and met her Brother (instant pal's for life) she said he likes to shoot!!!! Her Brother asked me to come out to their house and do some shooting some time. I brought my Colt Nat Match Gold Cup, Ruger Single action in 44 mag and my 300 win mag. We started to pop a few rounds and the girlfriend now the wife asked if she could try that Colt auto? She slammed the clip in and rapid fire the clip all in the chest area of the silhouette!!!!:confused:WAS MY FIRST IMPRESSION, she picked up the Ruger asked her Brother we have one of these dont we? she proceeded to put 6 in the head of the silhouette, Picked up the 300 win Mag and ran some thru that :confused::confused::confused:

She said your turn!!!!!
