Well, maybe it's not a CLEAN slate, but it's a new project for me. I bought a short block out of a 1990 dodge. I think I did okay on the price, $300. I've got a pretty long shopping list to fill before this is becomes a complete motor. I'm accepting donations or good deals on parts
It has the crank and pistons, the cylinder walls have some surface rust, but there's no scoring.
I'll post more pictures as I make progress with it. Money is going to be the determining factor in how long this takes-I'm not in a big hurry . When it's finished, it will be installed in my 1993 Ford F250.
As I've never rebuilt a cummins or anything bigger than a farmall cub motor, I'll probably be asking a lot of questions. For starters, does anyone have any links to info that will be helpfull?
