Howdy Tim, She sure looks pretty, I was wondering about your tire size, and if they rub each other(dauls)when towing heavy loads. We have almost the same trucks and I would like to level front and add larger than 235x16's.

Toolman, the "Cummins Power" cab plates look good on the door, but what is that decal on the side of your hood?

Nice rig TMTT1,

Have any head on shots to post? I'm considering new tires, either 265/75, 285/75, or the 255/85. Hate giving up low end grunt, drag, lower mpg with the 285's but a tall narrow tire with essentially the same diameter as a 285 might do the trick. I have a 2500 and need a visual since the 285 combo is more popular around here.

maybe a lil something like this . It's a pic of the old front end but, it'l do. #ad

How are you guys getting those big tires on the 3500 not to rub?? I was looking to get 34 or 35 inch tall tires on my truck and the biggest the tire shop could put on was a 235/85X16. They actually mounted a set of 255/85 and when they set the truck down there was only about 1/4 inch clearance between the tires. It would have touched with a load for sure. Do I need to change to a later model rim??

yes, from what I know the 98+ rims have a different offset than those of the previous gen. Most yards have a (pardon the expression) tonof them. but check lug pattern first as well as brake drum and rotor clearence.

hey mike, while we are on the subject ... . Do you know of any shops that make widened dual rims? (e-mailed sibling rivalry a few times to find out but no responce) The run 40" ground hawgs and in the profile it just says custom widened. worth a shot at the qyestion.

Nice truck! It makes you feel good when you have a clean truck to take out on the town.

When are you going to get junior training wheels like Mom? #ad

The reason the newer trucks can get the wider tire on,is because the 2000 and newer dually wheels have the deeper offset. The 99-older will only safey accept the 235/85's.

Thanx Missouri. By the way you are right about the other post about the 4 door conversion being posted a few months back in the general topic. the truck was silver if I remember nose pointing left. It kills me to not find it again but you are right.

Hi Tim,

I do have a 2500, have not been putting my Sig on my posts lately. The 305/85's are about 36" tall. I have a leveling kit on the front. They have not rubbed in 3 years. They really are too tall to get out of the hole quick. Rear axle ratio with them is about a 2. 00. #ad
Will swap to a shorter size spring '01.

See you in Milford on the 1st. #ad
