THIS MAY SOUND DUMP; BUT CLEANING A DIESEL ENGINE WITH PRODUCTS LIKE "GUNK" ANY SPECIAL

simple green or a product like that is probably a better alternative , plus it won't start a fire if you get it on something real hot . isn't gunk something akin to kerosene ?

anywho , don't do it right after shutting down towing your 5ver and you should be fine .

plus turn off that caps lock dude , we can hear you just fine .

I used a product named Greased Lightning and an air aspirated applicator, let it set a few minutes then hosed off. Did a good job. I can't find any more of the stuff but I suspect it is similar to Simple Green, it's a household type degreaser.

Simple Green is the choice of a lot of people. It works good and won't hurt the enviroment. I have used Simple Green on everything (motorcycles,autos,oil stains and my hands). Great stuff, just don't delute it. Spray it on full strength and it works well. #ad

If you have an Engine Brake don't forget to cover the vaccum control switch completely. If it gets any moisture into it, it tends to lock in either the off or on position.

[Okie-Go]

Cleaned mine yesterday with Simple Green. I put a plastic bag over the alternator to keep from getting wet. Let it sit about 5 minutes and hosed off,looks good. This was with a cold engine. I put it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage.
