Question: Has anyone tried cleaning Oxygen Sensors to get rid of these pesky Check Engine Lights from coming on? I have 50,000 miles on my '12 Ram 2500 & I don't want to have to buy 2 sensors if I can clean them & rid the lights. Can anyone advise? Thanks!
Bob4x4, I have a code that keeps coming up P2271 Oxygen Sensor Signal Stuck Rich, Bank 1 Sensor 2. Not sure if that would narrow something down but this is really irritating!
JRone, look at the TSB's listed on this site. There is an extensive bulletin that can guide you thru the repair if you have the skills. Cleaning won't do it imo.
The o2 sensors can be cleaned by using clean dry shop air at or below 75 psi but that is very rarely the issue. The 10-12's o2 sensor wiring has some shortcomings built in by the wiring vendor. Replace the overlay harness first. The trucks ECM must relearn the new values after the wiring is replaced
Thanks for the input everyone! I'd like to just delete all the emission crap to get rid of all the problems! I guess I'll do more research to see what my options are!
