What is the best product for cleaning the exhaust soot

off my fifth wheel trailer????

I have tried many things but no luck.

It is aluminum & fiberglass.

I'm on #1 on the smarty. Would a higher setting produce less

smoke to keep the trailer cleaner?

Thanks for the input guys.

Definitely not an odd numbered higher setting. Can't tell you about the even numbers (no timing advance), except the higher number indicates more fuel. Fuel-wise (or at least HP wise) 1=2, 3=4, 5=6, etc. Unless you've got a pyrometer and/or bigger/multiple-stage turbos, you risk cooking the turbo towing with a Smarty.

Microfiber mitts.

The turndown exhaust tip is a good suggestion and I believe Marco is coming up with some updates to address the smoke issues. Find yourself a "microfiber mitt". I got mine at Costco. These boogers lift everything off the surface of anything I've used them on.

My new turn down helped A LOT. I also towed my whole last trip with the Smarty on 1. I can say that egt's in the hills are lower on level 1 then stock.

I was able to tow up the passes at least 10MPH faster at 1,200-1,250 compared to 1,300 and slower with the Stock Sw.

I know you asked about soot removal, but.....

I also have a turn down tip and reccommend them for soot prevemntion.

if you are near a Lowe's ,look for a product called ' Orange Blast' ,,made by Greased Lightning, works great. i am sure it must be sold elsewhere But I haven't looked for it anywhere else being Lowe's is convenient. Also there is a product called 'Krudcutter' that works very well also .

I tried a 4" adjustable elbow duct from Home Depot/ Lowes that clamped onto my stock exhaust tip. Gets the job done & I just take it off when not towing. (At least you can see if turning your exhaust down helps before buying a fancy stainless exhaust tip!)
