Cleaning the hood insulation

Can the hood insulation be cleaned using engine cleaner (Simple Green or equivalent) and low pressure water? Mine is dirty, but did not want to spray with water, to find that the material wasn't water proof. I have visions of the insulation disintegrating.

Simple green and low pressure water, fine spray will do the trick. Just use common sense and don't get in a hurry. Do the hood first.

The hood insulation comes of pretty easily. Use simple green, spray off, set out in sun to dry!
