Anyone done this? I replaced my air filter and noticed that the compressor wheel is kinda dirty(130k miles and you'll have that). I work with gas turbines and we inject water while it is running and there are water/meth injection systems so I would imagine I could do it.

Maybe run the idle up to about 2000 and spray water into the compressor in a fine mist like a paint sprayer... or use carb cleaner or contact cleaner while running... What do ya think? I live in central FL... the weather is warm so I wouldn't have to worry about the grid heater or I could unplug it...

don't spray it with that stuff while running... it'll freak you out to hear the engine rev up and it's hard on the head gaskets.

while the truck is NOT running, just hose it down w/ some carb cleaner, and let it sit for a while for the fumes to evaporate.

really though, that film isn't hurting anything, so if it ain't broke???

if you must clean it unhook the IC tube from the turbo so none of that stuff gets in the IC or engine and you can run it or not and flush at will.
