To All,

I just added Clear Cab roof lights. I can't believe someone finally came out with clear lenses for All of the Dodge's. Finally I get rid of those amber colored lenses. I went to ebay, and found these babies. I was actually searching for a friend of mine that has a 04 F350. He wanted Clear Cab lights for his ride. Then I cam across the newer dodge. They have every application available. Crazy... The price is reasonable, and they look awesome on the truck. I will post pics later tonight.

Just a suggestion. If it were me, I'd be certain that whatever I did met the Federal vehicle lighting and conspicuity requirements as enumerated HERE. Expect roadside discussions with the law enforcement community otherwise.

I think as long as the forward facing lights are either amber or white, you should have no problem. I know you can not put red facing lights on the roof. Thats a no no. The lenses I bought came with a super white 194, but I think I will use an amber colored bulb. The super white light does look great though.

The NHTSA standards are quite specific - the amber (yellow) light locations listed on the website I referenced must be amber, not white or any other color. Clear or smoked lenses with amber bulbs where amber lights are required should be fine - clear or smoked lenses with white bulbs in these locations are not.

Clear lights

I think you're taking on something you may not want to take on, especially if your truck is 80" or wider (1 ton dual wheel) There is no provision for clear ID lights on the front of a vehicle.

This sounds realy interesting. I am about ready to order a 3500 SRW, but I really hate the look of those lights. Have considered getting a 2500 just for that reason.

I see that there is a federal requirement for them with the dually (over 80 inches wide) but are they legally required on a 3500 SRW?

What are you saying. I dont understand. . Take on what?? Guys, this is very simple, I am changing the Factory OE Amber Lens to a clear or Smoke Lens. As long as the bulb emits amber color than we all or whom ever decides to do this is totally fine. Its just like changing clear corners...

Do a search For Clear Cab Roof Lights on ebay. Or Call this phone number. i ordered mine through 866 999 6255. Ask to speak with automotive accessories division. They will help you out. Good luck. They might be out of stock. I know when I ordered they were running low. They said they are backordered but are definitely getting more in 10 days...

I just installed a set of these and think they look pretty good. I replaced the provided white 194 bulbs with Amber LED lights from superbrightleds.com. I posted some pics on my gallery over at the "other" Dodge site here.

How do you get such good quality pictures to be posted on this site? Mine are real grainy? Could you e-mail me with the solution. Thanks.

Mike

Mike,

Not sure if you were asking me but my posts were on the DTR site, not this one. I would think any grainyness has to do with the lighting (poor light and most digital cameras = grainy) and/or resolution.

They look great T brennan. Where did you get them. It looks awesome... Let me know, as the guy on ebay is sold out until next week. .

SSeifert,

I got them from the place on ebay by just calling their number. They are the only place I know of and I think it's a new product just being introduced so they might be hard to find elsewhere yet.

Good Luck and Thanks.

As for any regulations, there are no provisions that state you can't have clear lenses. Truckers add clear lenses to their trucks all the time - it's a major thing. The only regulations I know of are that you have to have amber facing front and red facing back.

I've been debating on whether to change them out myself but I've got a dually so I'd want the lights on the fenders to be clear too. Not to mention the corner lights next to the headlights...

Good luck.
