"clear" oil leak near A/C compressor. Can't figure out where it is coming from

I have a small puddle daily when my truck sets cold. The oil is brownish clear (like lite brand new motor oil) and is odorless. The passenger side motor mount is soked on the bottom but seems to be dry on top. Likewise th turbo is dry. Only thing I can suspect is that its comming from the A/C system. Is that possible? Any ideas? I just had 2 major things done, fire-ringed and A/C compressor in the last 3 months. Just started leaking in the last 3 weeks.

Thanks,

Ken

Sure sounds like AC lubricant leaking - how does the AC seem to be working - I'd think if lube was leaking, so would refrigerent, causing the AC to stop functioning effectively...

That's the thing is the A/C is working great. The compressor was just changed out so maybe something is just starting to go south.

Could it be the saftey pop off on the back side of the compressor?? If your system was over charged and pressures reach the maximum it will blow off excess. It usually makes some noise when it does pop off. Just a guess

Does the AC clutch seem to be cycling alot? That is usually the first sign that something is going South and it can still blow cold air in the begining.

Just a stupid question, but do our trucks have fluid damped motor mounts? I had the same problem on my 90 T-Bird SC and it turned out to be a leaking motor mount.

if the fluid is all over the side where the clutches are on the compressor it might be leaking out the seal on the shaft. i would have the system checked. because the ac might still be working because it still has a little bit of freon(r134a) in it. What happened to the first compressor? Just wondering

Took it to the a/c shop today. They said it was a little too much charged and there is a bleed off valve on the back of the compressor. First compressor had a bad leak.
