2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Clearance Lights on the 97?

The Mopar kit for clearance lights shows it fits 98-2002. Any ideas why this won't fit a 97?

It will fit.



In 98 they changed to a newer style lens. Pre 98 had what was known as the "early style" cab lights. The ones you have are the newer and better looking style.

Thanks, I knew Dodge did some funny things with the electrical on the late 90's trucks, like switching the way the headlight switch works or something, but now that I think it about it that shouldn't matter with something simple like clearance lights.

Actually, the 98's still had the old style. The new lens didn't start until 99. As for the Mopar cab light kit, the last time I checked, the kit for the 98-02 still included the old style lens.

Does anyone have the part number for the kit, I checked at the dealer one time and they said they can only get a '03 kit?

The P/N for the 1998-2002 lights from the dodge truck accessories catalog is 82205120. I just ordered a set for each truck, but they are on back order. I believe these are the larger, old style lenses though.
