The clearcoat on top of my 97 is starting to bubble up in real tiny dots and one place about the size of a dime. Is there anything to fix it or anything I can do to slow it down? I washed and put an extra coat of wax on the area in hopes of adding some protection, any other ideas? Since it is on top of the cab anything that looks okay will do.

The clear coat is dying... ... . wax doesnt seem to stop the progression. I had to paint mine for the same thing. :(

The root cause of the problem is an inferior primer Chrysler used until 1997, the bubbles will progress to large scale peel off of the paint. Only way to really fix it is to take the truck down to bare metal and repaint. Legally this problem is covered under the original warranty since the problem occurred the day the truck was first painted new, it just takes awhile to show up. Chrysler tries to deny fault even though admit the primer was faulty, every case that goes to small claims court wins a new paint job, you just have to take the time to do it.

If you have low miles,if you have a good service history with your dealer,if you are under 5yrs,if your D/C District Manager is in good standing with D/C. You might get some assistance from D/C. Partial participation. I am pretty sure a 97 is going to be too old to meet that criteria :(
