Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Clearing codes

How do I clear codes? I checked earlier for the heck of it, and found 216 and 1693. Haven't had any problems- no dead pedal-nothing. Maybe the codes are old? Don't want to worry for no reason! Thanks.

Bhowayeck,

Need a code reader to erase the codes. The 0216 code is VP44 on its way out. Go to AutoZone and they will read and clear codes for free. Then check the codes with the key on-off trick and see if it returns. If it does you need to find where you are going to buy your pump before you need it.

you can make the light go away but not clear the codes by taking the battary off for 15min
