There seems to be a clicking noise coming from within the steering colomn, but only when turning to the right. The truck only has 33000 mi on it, and I just put 285's on maybe 1000 miles ago. I don't know what it could be, truck is still under warranty, but I perfer not to let the dealers put their grimy little hands on it when possible. Any help is appreciated, and Thanks in advance, CC

I assume it is a regular clicking noise heard as the wheel turns. Probably the clock spring - used to make contact with the airbag actuator electronics.

There was a redesign on them some time back - don't know if your truck is applicable to the recall. You can check it out here.

If you are under warranty I'd get it looked at.

Thanks nps, I would say it was a regular clicking noise if it clicked before, but it hasn't. It is normal sounding I suppose, but the other airbag equipped vehicles that we own have never had any clicking noises associated with turning. I did take the truck into the dealer about the clockspring recall about two months ago, and they said that the truck wasn't in need of the new part. I wasn't sure if any of ya'll had had a similar experience or knew of anything.
