Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Well, the MAD ECM thread has become an unwieldy beast, so let's see if we can't condense some of the highlights:
1) Catcher stands for "Clutch and traction challenger". It's an ECM re-flash designed for responsiveness and driveability, not necessarily more power. It does, however, produce added power about on par with what popular timing boxes give. I drastically increases "throttle response" and reduces turbo lag as well, to a degree that no other product seems to approach.
2) It can be flashed into ANY 24V Dodge Cummins ECM. All that's needed is specific knowledge of YOUR truck so that the proper software version can be installed for your year, transmission, etc. There was an issue with the 2001 vs the 2001. 5 trucks, but it has been resolved. To prevent possible software glitches, it's best to furnish as much info about your truck and OEM ECM as you can.
3) It includes a built-in boost delimiter, so no need for boost foolers anymore.
4) There a version available with special timing designed to accomodate fueling boxes that add timing (e. g. Edge Comp).
5) Marco has the ECMs setup so the dealer cannot make you lose your Catcher program if they try to re-flash something.
6) The ECM will support all the features you want to keep, like the factory cold weather idle-up feature.
7) If you are looking for a spare ECM, make sure it only has ONE plug-- not two. The ECM from OTHER cummins applications won't work on your Dodge.
8) Bob Wagner sends the ECM to Italy for Marco to reprogram, so there is some travel time involved. Be patient
