Bummer Ken, but it doesn't look too bad. A good body shop should be able to lay in new fiberglass and build it back up. In your area it should be in the $300 to $400 range i would guess, and thats mostly labor of course. Cheer up though, it could have been like my 2 grand rubber roof repair... ... ... :{ Sarge

Ken,

Bummer. Is that gelcoat or filon? That sort of thing happens so easily. It hurts; espcially when you take all the precautions.

Casey

The material if Filon. I put some foil tape over it for now. Who knows, it may be that way for years, but I would like to get it fixed.

Sorry for your misfortune, Ken. Reminds me of one time my wife was doing the "backup direction thing" and guided a tree branch through the dinette window. Her response was, " I was only watching the other side!"

Somehow I doubt the silver tape will be on there all that long;) .

Dave

Not nearly as bad as I did to a U-Haul once. :( Yeah, if it was me, I would probably have to get it fixed too. However, it is not a bad location to mount a fancy plaque that says "Lenger's Place". ;)

Ouch Ken!!

My neighbor had a simlar experience with his class C, and the damage was a bit worse, but the cost was $700 to fix. His was a laminate build, and you can still see a difference where it was fixed. It's not real bad, but there is a difference.

He told me thathe got large variances in price, get many estimates. His higher estimates were from body shops, and he ended up taking it to a large RV dealer (Giant RV) who did the job.

Kev

Ken,

I estimate... . another 3" to the right and you would have been in the clear. :D

Sorry

I know how it feels, I had the same thing happen to my trailer when it was new, except the limb was just a little higher and caught the edge of the rubber roof. I thought I was going to throw-up! Like DPellieter my wife was watching the side of the trailer that I could see not the side I couldn't  , but I was driving so I accepted the blame. When it is repaired it probably won't be perfect, but if it helps your feelings any no one will notice it that high up and on the backside of the trailer.

I hate it happened to you, but these trailers are so big (tall) it is really hard to avoid these things sometimes. Good luck on your repairs.
