You can trust that to be true or you can compare it to the 20,000+ New Testament texts found by archaeologists which say the same thing the current Bible says. Any errors found will include misplaced punctuation, misspelled words and minor errors from slip of the pen. NO problems with the doctrine contained within!

Does that mean since Dr Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham has been printed 260 million times in hundreds of languages with the same message and exact same wording down to the comma should we take Sam I Am's word as gospel also?



If the disciples where in fact recording the words of Jesus how come it took them 60 years according to hundreds of archaeologists to finally write them down?



Could you repeat something you heard 60 years previous verbatim when you're 85 years old or might you bend it a bit?

I would like to add this

I know first hand that the reason Catholic priests are not allowed to have familys is because if they have a family it cost the CHURCH MORE MONEY!! and if the priest has a dispute with his spouse then the Organization Risks Losing there parsonage etc. This is fact from a Ex priest whom was very high up he now has a family and a regular job. I am in no way trying to flame the priests the pope or catholics. but why the heck should I follow a group that has MONEY as there motive. Ill tend to my own soul thank you. it seems to do pretty well with this whole EVOLUTION THING. Science Rules!! Ps there are certain catholic sects that at one time did have familys they fixed that real quick when the spouses started fighting over the marital property. I personally do believe in a supreme power and that it is the driving force behind the gradual earth cycles. Just my 02 cents. I was raised to try to help and love all peaple I fail some times I guess if I was a Beleiver in the other theory I would be a better human HUH!I do not think I am better than anyone because Of how I believe I dont think others should feel any different just because they and I do not share the same RELIGIOUS views. Hows that Sam I am . . I loved that story!! do I beleive the content NO!!

I am still confused by the path the thread has taken, and could use some enlightenment. I seem to spend a lot of time confused, maybe it is just my nature



But seriously, do you folks truly think that the Christian denominations pose the same sort of threat as the Muslim faithful who are taught by the religious leaders to seek the death and destruction of non-Muslims?



Although we have seen the abuses of trust by the miserable pedophiles that have plagued the Catholic church, and the occasional (but truthfully, VERY rare) nut who hits abortion clinics or docs, there have been no organized Christian physical assaults in living memory. The Presbyterians, the Methodists, the Baptists, none of these groups call for death and destruction like the hard-line Muslim groups do. But this entire thread has devolved to Christian bashing, not Muslim bashing. Do you really think Christians are the problem here? If so, why?

And while the Christians are not calling for Jihad, they are calling for MO MONEY.

What I see in this thread are posts by some Christians who believe, based on their posts, that I you don't believe exactly as they do, you will die and go to the Fire and Brimestone Resort. Then you have posts by those who are offended (and rightly so IMO) by this. I seems obvious that there or those in Christianity that have the same views as the Muslim extremists . However, the mainstream Muslim community doesn't teach the killing on non-Muslims, nor does the mainstream Christian community.



It seems your disappointed that the tread isn't bashing Muslims. Why?

Any organized religion has factions that could be equally bashed, not just Christianity. What irks me to the bone is when anyone of them claims that theirs is the only way just because it's written down in some 2000+ year old book.

First off let me say I don't have a problem with other religions than mine. I have not tried to get anyone here to come to my church or donate money to my church. What I am saying is that the Bible is the same today as it was 2000 years ago. The bible is the ONLY book that can claim that. No other ancient book can claim that, Shakespeare comes to mind - Many manuscripts exist and there are many issues that completely change the story.



I think most of us on here who know Him share the same beliefs about Jesus. We may have some different opinions on biblical issues, but we all believe there is only one way to Heaven, and that is by Jesus Christ. You can not earn your way by being good, you can't claim to believe He existed (the demons even know that), You have to know Him personally.



There will be a judgment day and excuses won't be taken. I hope anybody that does not want to know Jesus on a personal basis will reconsider. You can trust what the Bible says. Read about Jesus and get to know Him.

The Chinese book of divination, the I Ching is at least 5,000 years old, it escaped the book burning of the Ch'in monarchy in 213 B. C. , the original manuscript still survives. At the time of the burning thousands of books were burned, all of them older than the NT, most older than the OT.



Many Hindu scriptures are estimated to be at least 4000 years old.



The Bible book of Job is said to be the oldest book of the Bible, written around 1400 BC, about half the age of the I Ching.



Compared to the Eastern religions Christianity and Islam are just pups.

I find all this talk rather interesting, but I also see where it may harm the brotherhood of Cummins owners, if we don't back off of it. Let's not divide our ranks with this debate.



Up until now, we have been happy with our differences, to the most part, and we enjoy each other's company here and at our gatherings without knowing or caring what the other guys' religious beliefs are.

Sorry, you're right, I missed the 1.

The first five books of the OT were written by Moses, Job was written by an unknown Israelite around 1400 BC

The NT was written between 45 and 95 AD



Doc I don't see anyone getting abusive here, though of course there will never be an end to this thread, these same arguments have been going on for 2000 years, there will never be a "winner. "

I have never intended any disrespect or abuse to a single person on this thread. I am enjoying the opportunity to express my feelings. I again say I have no ill will toward any certain individual on this thread or site for that matter. I do not understand why we are being asked to pipe down?? I love you all and am thankfull we have this forum to openly discuss our views. I feel its a Healthy way to be and I would greet any person writting on this thread with open doors at my House. I again restate that I think all religions are trouble. Christian moslem jew what ever its not the peaple its the religion behind them. May I also add That I do not think there is a winner or looser to this debate. That will never happen and should it occur I feel our lives are in Great danger. Variety is the essence of life. I still say Religion is the cause for alot of the turmoil in our society. Is my position right Maybe is everyone elses position right Maybe.
