OK... . I am SSOOOOOOO over this! I have had this problem with my engine missing (it happened after I changed to the 370's; I put the 215's back in and had the same thing). I found a local independent shop thru a referal. I called and talked with the owner on the phone... he seemed patient and knowlegable. I made an appointment for Saturday AM. I called and reconfirmed the appointment on Friday. I drove an hour down to Northern Cuba and arrived just after 7:30am... I spent quite a while talking with the tech, Raul. He worked for Cummins for 16 years. In the end, he never picked up a tool and told me the truck has plenty of power. . not sure what I was concerned about! I thought that I could at least get my timing adjusted while there and get something accomplished at least. "No, senior... you have to make an appointment for that... . I cant do it today". Wait... I asked them to do it when making my appointment, and put my entire Saturday aside to do this! I am now convinced that there are NO capable diesel mechanics who are willing to work in this entire state!! I will spend my vacation time travelling to an out-of-state TDR vendor to perform work on my truck, instead of spending it with my fiance'!!! So I am asking you, dear members... where should I go?
