I have a 2004. 5 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel that currently has cloth interior, power everything except for pedals and passenger seat.

I want to replace the cloth seats with leather power ones. Is this feasible? I checked ebay but only found a tan pair of seats for sale, I want black. Is the wiring already there for the driver's side power seat? If not, can I get a harness or something for it?

Has anyone done this? Does anyone want cloth seats? haha

I did that on my 04. 5 but I used autoleathers.com It comes out pretty good, but be prepared to spend some time doing it.

I would find a local dealer and ask who they use as there automotive upholster. After market leather is always better that the stock stuff and they use the existing seats. My buddy bought a new Toyota and had the dealer install aftermarket leather. Not only did they cover the seats, the door panels were wrapped and also the center consoles. Cost about $2000 but that’s better that the usual $5000 for the leather upgrade for most autos.

Also, If you happen to be a big fella like myself, I wear down the seats kinda quickly. the upholster can replace the botton cushon and even make a custom fit one. its all about the $$$

I don't really want to spend $2000 to replace my seats, I don't want leather THAT bad.

my 2K quote is not firm... actually my buddys dealer tossed it the leather at no cost because of the situation which brought him there in the first place. I would just ask someone and get a quote from them. It doesn't hurt to ask.

You said your in Calif, SoCal? Long Beach Auto Trim qouted about a grand for the job. One day I'll do it, when I get tired of stikin' to the seats.

We east coast rust belt guys have always envied your California junk yards. What about findin' a set of take outs? While you're at it you might as well look for a front pair of SRT-10's. Those things are *****in'! If only my truck was graphite leather instead of tan, I'd have sniped some by now for myself. Some Cale'Fernie' hippie has gotta've totaled out an SRT or two by now. :)

Anyone know if the factory power harness is in all trucks? (mine came with power so I cant help yee)

Where you guys able to get the leather installed smooth? I have wrinkles on the bolsters of my front seats and I can't figure out how to get them out.

Someone on here said that the only leather part of the stock seats is the part that contacts the body. The sides and back of the seats is a matching vinyl. Just another reason to go with aftermarket leather covers

True, but you don't sit on the sides and back. They use vinyl where leather is not needed to keep the cost down. Makes sense.

You're right, it does make sense from the manufacturer's point of view.

I was just pointing out that if you were going to buy replacement seat covers that you can get all leather for the price of partial leather from the dealer.

I think I am going to get a set of leather covers. But one question do they cover the center console? How do they fasten and install? Thanks for the info been wanting to upgrade interior with leather for show, I never knew it to be affordable and look so good. Thanks for the leatherseats.com info, now which color scheme to go with the stock grey/dark slate (whatever color)? Any suggestions, I was thinking maybe Black w/charcoal?

The darker you go, the warmer in the summer. I'd stay with a lighter color. You can always wash leather with a damp cloth and leather cleaner.
