I saw a 1997 club cab driving on the street and it look like it had a rear door on the driver side. I'm sure it was a 1997. . Did club cabs come with a door on one side>?
You could get a 98 quad cab with a 12V I believe... not many but they were out there. I think only Ford had the three door on F150's. Later they had four... . and Dodge and Chevy all went straight to 4 doors.
I know that in 98 you could get either club cab or quad cab with both engines. I happen to have probably the second most rare truck - 98. 5 club cab, while my buddy has the most rare (IMHO) 98. 4 quad cab.
Going from memory - 96 was the first year for the club cab without any rear doors. 97 came with a door on one side (they changed the 'front doors" to a square bottom instead of the earlier rounded ones. 98 or 98. 5 (don't remember) went to quad.
Negative- Dodge NEVER had a "3-door". Quad Cab came out in the '98 model year. Also, Chevy did NOT "go straight to 4 doors- the C/K series had the 3rd door on the passenger side, while the S series had it on the driver's side.
