Clunk-like noise during slow right turns (2wd)

I did a search on this with no luck. My stock 2wd has had an issue when making fairly tight turns to the right at less than five miles per hour (like into a parking spot). I'm hearing a clunk or bang noise from the front passenger-side right wheel area. When this happens the noise can be felt through the steering wheel; it seems like something was binding up and is breaking free.

I haven't had time yet to put the front on jackstands and take a first-hand look. Anyone else have a similar problem with their rack-and-pinion steering? The truck has 18k miles with plenty of warranty left.

Thanks!

Mine did the same thing for the first 5k. My dealer couldn't figure it out.

It stopped shortly thereafter and I haven't heard it since.

My truck is doing this. At about 75,000 miles, it started. When I am turning right hand corners, if I pull slightly on the steering wheel (to the left as if I was stabalizing myself on the corner), it makes a "thump" sound which you can feel in the steering wheel. It only happens turning to the right, while applying slight left force on the entire steering wheel. Makes me think it can't be a ball joint because it won't do it when I turn right if I don't pull slightly left on the steering wheel.

Any ideas what could cause this?

Thanks!!
